Beau Belle Cosmetics ultra contour palette £14.95 / sculpt brush £7.95 

I was scrolling through Instagram the other day as you do and I came across this contour palette along with lots of people obsessing over how good it is, so naturally I thought I better try it out and see what the hypes all about for myself. I've been wanting a creamy contour palette for ages now but never knew which one to go for but after seeing the much affordable price of Beau Belle Cosmetics I had to buy it. I also purchased a sculpting brush which defines contour lines and really makes your cheek bones pop. This contour palette is great in that it has 10 different tones to choose from so you will find at least one colour that suits you. The thing I like about this palette is that there's so many different shades to choose from so it works for light and dark skin tones. I've worked there out to be 5 highlights and 5 contours. So I know what you're thinking, what are the pros and cons for this palette? Firstly, it's very cheap and affordable compared to other palettes out there such as the ABH cream contour which retails around £40, it also blends amazingly as it's nice and creamy and not dry. LITTLE TIP- use a beauty blender for the best result when blending. Lastly, there's a variety of colours so you can decide whether you want a natural contour and highlight or one that's really sharp and defined. However, if I had to choose a con it would be that the two lighter shades of contour have quite orangey undertones and I know most people perfer grey or dark brown undertones so that's just something to bear in mind but as I said there are 5 contour shades so you're bound to find one you like which is why I love this palette as you can mix it up a little. Rememener, apply highlight where you want your features to seem bigger and brighter and apply contour where you want to seem more smaller and defined. After you use the creams you also want to use some transparent powder and just dab it around your face with a beauty blender as you want your makeup to stay in place. 

The Highlights 

There's 5 shades I consider to be highlights, I highlight under my eyes and the inner of my face in a triangle like shape, the lower forehead, bridge of my nose, both sides of my lips and underneath my cheekbones. The shade on the left is the lightest and whitest of them all and that's the one I've been using to do my highlight with as I think it gives the best look if you really want a defined face. The second is a pinky shade which can go under the eyes or even used for a really light blush if you'd like. The middle shade is more yellowy and warm which is great for a more natural highlight if you don't want your facial features to show as much. The last two I actually haven't tried out for myself as they're for more darker skin tones, they're quite dark and have more of a brownish undertone which wouldn't be great as a highlight on me but good for people with darker skin tones. 

The Contours

These are the 5 contour shades and to apply them I use the sculpt brush from Beau Belle as it gives great dimension. I contour my cheekbones, forehead, the underneath of the lips and chin, the sides of my nose, Cupid's bow and my jaw line. The first one on the left is the one I've been using as I think it's more warming out of the browns and it gives a really nice look, I use this shade on every part of my face that needs contouring, I also use the second for a defined line in my cheekbones just so I have that sharpness that I like. The second is the darkest out of them all so you can use it to really define features. The middle one is almost identical to the first except it looks a little bit of a shade darker so it's up to you which you want to use. The fourth is the one with the more orange undertone so I wouldn't personally use these as I I would look like an oompa loompa but it would be better for more darker skin tones where it can be blended more naturally, the last one is the lightest of them all and would be best for more fairer skin tones and again this shade isn't really a dark brown, it does have brown undertones but it's still more orange to me so I personally don't like it.

REVIEW | ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS CONTOUR KIT

Ladies, I mean it when I say that there is nothing that Anastasia Beverly Hills can't do. First she transformed my brows with her dipbrow promade and now after purchasing this contour kit I've realised that her products are literally god sends. I'm starting to think that it's a good thing that you can only purchase most of her products in America otherwise I would be skint, no seriously the cream contour palette is next on my wish list. This contour palette is perfect for sculpting and defining the face, unfortunately I was not blessed with amazing face structure and check bones so I have a little help by my friend here who will certainly sculpt your face the way you want. The great thing about this palette is that there are three highlight colours and three contour colours so you will be able to work with them and see which best suits you. While these colours are rather pigmented they can easily be blended and worked with, trust me if you love makeup as much as me then you will use this everyday and it will become part of your daily makeup must have. 

Contour- 

Java- a little darker than fawn, better for a more sharp and sculpted look so it's perfect for the sculpting of the nose and outline of your cheekbones. 

Fawn- best shade for contour as you can build it up as it's quite neutral and not too light or dark. 

Good starting point for any part of the face that needs to be contoured. 

Havana- warmest of all the colours, a rather darker shade of contour which is best for the forehead as it is quite heavy on the cheek bones. 

Highlight- 

Vanilla- more of an off white tone, matte so perfect for highlighting the nose and forehead, also under your cheekbones to make them look more defined and sculpted. 

Banana- yellowy toned matte highlight great for under the eyes on top of concealer to blur out dark under eyes.  

Sand- the shimmery highlight out of the three to be placed above the cheek bones to compliment the contour and make your cheek bones stand out. Gorgeous shade that glitters perfectly. 

I've used this palette on many people when doing their makeup, along with myself in my everyday routine. This kit is definitely worth it and each powder is replaceable and magnetically clips in which is a bonus.

Happy Halloween

I know halloween was two days ago now but I've been super busy these last few days which is why I'm only doing a halloween post now. There's not much to say for the actual night of halloween this year, I was really boring and I didn't do much. Sat In eating candy and answering the door to young trick or treaters. On the bright side I saw a lot of good costumes that I can take inspiration from for next year. Although I did have fun making my little sisters look scary and decorating the house. I have two sisters who are the age of 9 and another who is 6. The two older ones wanted to go as "dead school girls" so I worked with this to make them look scary but not too grown up. The youngest went as a dead pirate but wanted the same makeup as her older sisters. Me on the other hand was boring. I just had blood dripping from my mouth with the smokey eye effect. Black dress and boots.

Makeup 

The dead school girl look is really easy to create. For the face all you need is a range of eyeshadow, I just used the colours I already had in my makeup bag, blacks and browns mainly, there the main colours you need to create that eye effect. Then I used the bourjois colour boost crayon in the colour plum Russian just to give their lips that extra touch. The colour of this is actually gorgeous, it gives your lips a really sort of glossy finish aswell which is good. Also because there young I didn't want to cake makeup on their skin so I just gave their cheeks a little blush and bronze too. But you can really do whatever you want with your makeup, a different lip colour whatever. I'm just letting you know what I used. 

Outfit 

This ones super easy. All you need is some old school clothes that can get dirty and ripped. Because the more blood the better. I actually didn't buy any fake blood because I was too late, by the time I went to the shops they had sold out of all halloween stuff. I probably shouldn't have left it to the same day but anyway there's always a back up plan. All you need is some red food colouring mixed with 

some icing suagar, do it's basically like making icing to put on top of a cake. You obviously don't want it too runny but not too thick, so just even it out a little. Once you've caked your clothes and face in blood you can start to cut and rip your clothes to make you look a little more tatty and scary. You can do this before or after it doesn't really matter. So that's the costume and makeup done for halloween.

Tradition 

It's a halloween tradition to carve pumpkins isn't it? It certainly is in my house. we are pumpkin mad. Pumpkins only really come into our shops for halloween so I think it doesn't really feel like halloween if you dont have a lit pumpkin on your doorstep. 

Favourite candy

My favourite candy is Reece's peanut butter cups. Not just for halloween but all year round. I 

absolutely love these and can't get enough of them. There actually American chocolates I think, but we now have them in our u.k stores. And I quite frankly can't get enough. They actually had a halloween one this year and I got so excited.
